Learning Module Titles

The title of your learning modules will be derived from the title tags found your learning modules web content files.

Files that are uploaded will use the file name as the title.

Module Link Names

When you create a project, the default link name assigned to new projects is a simple "c". This means that modules uploaded to the project will be assigned remote access link names like https://knowvela.com/c/12345678.

You can change the link name from "m" to one of several available link names using a simple drop-down name selector on the project list page. All of the available link names will direct the user to the learning module, so if you send out one link name, and later change the project's link name a different name, the previous links will still work.

Learning Module Size Requirements and Recommendations

The largest uploaded file size allowed by KnowVela is 2GB. The amount of file space used by each learning module includes the space required to store your uncompressed learning module files plus the original uploaded zip file which we keep for future downloading.

To upload your learning module, create or select a project. Then either select or drag the learning module file using the file select box. Uploading large learning modules can take a while depending on the size and content of your learning module. When the upload is completed, your new learning module will be added to the project. Click on the learning module name (or the eye icon) for a module preview and remote access link.

Module Access Tracking

Every time a module is accessed, details on the access are recorded in an access history database that you can access for the module. The access data captured includes the date and time of the access, the access type (LINK or LTI) and the IP address of the access. For LTI accesses, additional LTI specific information is also saved.

You can see the access history data for a module by clicking on the icon from the module list view. You can also download the access history data in spreadsheet format.

My Portfolio Page

Showcase your talents to clients or potential employers with a personalized 'My Portfolio' page on KnowVela. This page allows you to display selected projects and files without requiring visitors to log in, making it an ideal tool for presenting your key works for review. You can also display a bio section and a link to your professional web site or LinedIn account, along with a button that allows you to be contacted via your email account. Ensure that the modules you choose to include are publicly accessible and not restricted by a secret key.

To customize your portfolio page name, simply edit your profile. Keep in mind, changing the name will deactivate the previous link, rendering it inaccessible.

You can add or edit your bio information and add a URL link to your professional web site of LinedIn account. You can also customize the URL link button text to say something like "Learn More" or "Find Me on LinkedIn".

To curate content for your portfolio, navigate to a project and select the desired modules by ticking the 'Portfolio?' checkbox. To remove a module, just untick the box. Your portfolio will display learning modules with a launch button (for immediate viewing) and files with a download button (for easy downloading), ensuring your work is readily accessible. Add only content that is appropriate for public viewing. Items in your portfolio are sorted by the date they were uploaded, with the most recent appearing first.
